He can feel the flickering of Nate’s frustration and inferno behind a thinly veiled wall, enough so that when the growl reaches him and his back is pinned to the bed, does he squirm slightly, shifting to get the wings to edge more comfortably in this space. And when he does open his eyes, they’re ringed with red, pupils blown, a glimmer in the dark steel of his gaze that’s nearly swallowed whole by black.
