The urge to tear his eyes away is resisted, for now, part of Nate worried that if he looks away this time, there won’t be anything to look back at when he gathers his nerve again. Somehow, Sunjata has managed to break through the layers of darkness and coagulated emotion to find something calm, something that is bright for now. I love you too fucker, jee-zus. Despite the nasally, whining words, Nate clings to his husband, letting himself be moved back to the bed easily, until finally his knees hit it and he goes falling back with an oof. Every hand he has tries to cling tight, to drag Sunjata down with him.
