Cam remained oblivious to Mabel's disagreement, her anger, her contempt for the Old Gods' followers -- or, rather, they chose not to see these things, chose to continue the conversation as just a light banter about changed bodies. Of course, since they couldn't taste anymore, they couldn't enjoy the few foods they actually liked, but they considered that a small tradeoff for not having to shovel unwanted matter into their face multiple times a day to survive.
