If the gods were real, she was certain that the legends of the birds had to have been true at least at some point. And yet despite hearing all about the rituals and things that they did, she didn’t know what the Spark bird liked. She tried to think of common things that other birds liked – things to build up its nest and things to eat, and she packed herself with those things just in case. Some broken apart tufts of fur, some wool, some sticks and nice rocks to pack a nest with. She also brought some food, some seeds from around Caido and other various berries she could leave as an offering.

She had decided to spend Longnight at the bar with all the others, and figured that amassing so much food was basically useless for her if she was going to be surrounded by many other people and not alone – so she could spare sharing the rest with the Spark Bird. What she didn’t plan on, was coming across Deimos yet again. He approached the constructed perch, seeming to inspect it and how it was put together while she hurried closer to him – drawing her scarf around her neck tighter. She still hadn’t reached him by the time he had laid out his offerings, and she found herself slowly lowering her pack as she approached to do the same.

Hoping the Spark Bird appears?” She hummed to him with a tilt of her head and offering a quiet smile before she dropped her sack at her feet and rummaged through it as well. She laid out the sticks on the base, adding the scraps of wool and tufts of fur to the middle and adding a couple other sticks on top in an effort to keep the wind from blowing the items away. Next to it was where she’d place the berries before turning to look back at her friend with a bright smile. “Thank you for the wood, by the way. What are you doing for Longnight?” She asked him with another tilt of her head.
time stops still and lends you hope
that hazy due, so black so blue
wash away that fear, a cloud of smoke
whatever lets you cope
