She stayed in the Oasis for a lengthy period of time, gathering fish, berries, and any other necessities for LongNight. The youth would’ve ventured elsewhere, if she weren’t enraptured by the delicate layer of ice, the snow-laden grass, or the potential enigmas floating along the boundaries. Fangorn was much the same, though he was more enticed by bugs burrowed beneath layers and layers of frozen soil, making hissing noises when he heard one under his gourd frame. Melita would simply shake her head and dig a hole for him, where he could munch to his delight.

Today’s intentions were lined with luxere sightings though, and she mustered the leftover apples from a few trees nearby. It seemed they weren’t necessary in the next moment though, because as she lifted her head away from Fangorn’s latest pursuit, her gaze caught the vivid glow of the deer. She watched and waited for a few moments, trapped, incapable of doing anything, for the girl couldn’t help her loud existence, her boisterous movements, her ebullient, vivacious intervals. They were beautiful, a blend of hues and colors that would’ve seemed otherworldly anywhere else; ethereal and divine.

Rexanna had managed to meander into the clearing too, and Melita yearned to wave and shout from across the glade, but for once she knew better, and understood it wasn’t a situation heralding outcries and howls. So she attempted to slide her way closer, Fangorn taking the hint and bounding along behind her, striving not to disturb the creatures.
