"You say that like it isn't already." She teased back happily. Though the idea of gifts made her pause mid-stride. Bobi, who'd been ambling along behind her collided with the back of her leg and yowled unhappily. Trotting forward, deciding leading was better than following, the kitten began to prowl for bugs to practice pouncing on.
"What? I can keep quiet." A mischievous grin spread across her lips, as she shrugged to herself. "Okay, maybe I can't. But I can keep a secret." Miming locking her lips shut and throwing away the key, the teenager shook her head. "Nah...We did in Northwind, the original place we're all from. Northaven was where we were all sent too. But there was too much fighting and bureaucracy and general disorder to really focus on things like that. We kept track of age to know when you should be married off, if you were old enough to contribute, when magical powers would begin to manifest...that sort of stuff. But it was never really a celebration."
