Mabel couldn’t help herself – she laughed. It wasn’t anything exuberant or wild, but a low pitched thing, as the dagger stabbed it the gourd through and through, as it sailed through the air, as Nikolai continued to scowl and be grumpy and growly. Good grief, was she like that?
