"You'll get a hug when you deserve a hug." And as far as Gideon was concerned, that was not going to be for quite some time.
That Jonah had recently visited their mother was a surprise (though from the way Jonah said it, Gideon wondered just how recent 'recently' was). "She didn't mention anything to me. I even told her I was looking for you." Gideon replied with a frown, fixing Jonah with a flat look. It was hard to pull the emotions in his chest into any kind of unified front at the moment - he felt equal parts elated, angry, betrayed and thrilled.
He took the pause to mean that Jonah had in fact been in several Ascended orgy houses. Great. "Meeting people. Anyone good? Do you even know there's a war coming, Jonah--" Suddenly, Gideon stopped himself as he heard the words come out of his mouth and with a sigh, he pressed a hand to his lips. "...Sorry. I...I am glad to see you. Fuck, Jonah, I thought you were dead. Actually dead."
