LOCKE
He just hums in response, hazel eyes lingering on the arm folded across her belly. He can't really tell her what to do, can he? Locke twists back to how he was sitting, taking another swig of his beer and sighing softly. Things are some how more weird than they were at the festival. Maybe because there's none of that anger he was anticipating. She just seems.. Sad?
He doesn't watch as she draws closer to him, desperately trying to ignore the crunch of the sand. Some part of him wants her to just leave, to forget about him. Surely she wouldn't have to raise the kid alone. Someone better could fill in for him. Someone better should. But Locke knows, in his heart of hearts, that he wouldn't let that happen. Something about her usually ending up here bothers him too. Why can't she just stop loving him? It'd be easier for everyone involved.
Her question makes him tense for a moment but he relaxes, taking another swig of his beer. It's already almost empty and he's not sure how that's happened. Didn't he just open it? Another shrug as he watches the waves, "Got back a little early. Figured you wouldn't want me dropping in on you so unexpectedly." Not quite a lie but not quite the truth either. "Figured I would come find you tomorrow after I'd gotten my land legs back."
