"I think we can go back that way, we just have to be careful not to run into that big bird again. You can be a dog and I will take that stick just in case? We can scare it off then, if it comes back."
Mateo doesn't seem at all bothered about Virgo, because of course he knows exactly what to expect. It might be a little bit of a shock to Ever, though, when Ronin summons the celestial figure to tend to his son's arm, but then, at least it's a story to take home with him, right? Either way, Mateo's wrist is bandaged and set in a sling in no time at all, and the boys are unleashed once again out into the world.
Whether or not that's a good thing remains to be seen.
