The note was confusing and Maeve wanted to ask more, unsure of what he could have possibly done to piss off his herald, but there hadn’t been time before they set off. Maeve rolls her eyes when Locke urges her aside, bending down to start filling up their buckets, leaving her with nothing to do but keep watch. Her fingers curl around the handle of her whip, pressing into the supple leather as jade eyes scan their surroundings, keeping an eye out in the dim cavern. ”I remember that. Suppose it’s fitting, it'll be helping again this year.” She muses, casting a glance towards Melita, suddenly realizing that she hadn’t told her of Locke’s predicament.
Not wanting the honeybee to assume that he had some kind of issue aside from his curse, she quickly corrects that, ”He can’t talk right now. Apparently got cursed at a shrine when he went to see Frey.” She bends to grab one of the full buckets, carrying it back up the bank and setting it to the side before carefully finding her way back down for the next. ”I’m mostly just worried about us getting back without spilling any. That’s what the kegs up top are for. We’ll fill those up and the mules will carry them back.”
