Nikolai was incredibly relieved that Isla gave him a hand with the obsidian. He highly doubted he'd have been able to do it on his own. The stone had proven to be stronger then he'd expected and it had broken into oddly shaped fragments. Carefully, Nikolai sorted the workable chunks from those that were too sharp or misshapen to reuse. -Bridgett Devoue
Having finished sorting, Nikolai then moved the reusable chunks to the cart. He was a bit relieved that the obsidian stone was strong enough to be stacked without breaking itself. It meant he could fit more into the cart then he'd expected. Some of the smoother, small fragments caught the young Ascended's eye however. And given that they couldn't be used, he pocketed them for himself.
Nikolai sorts the workable pieces from the rest and moves them to the cart. He also pockets a few small pieces for himself because shiny.
