And there is a reason that even Ascended eyes were unable to discern what was within the cave. It's because you aren't looking through something. You're looking right at it. And as the group arrives it begins to shift and move, and all around you the Peepholes shudder and shed dirt and rock.
Finally it finishes unfurling itself, giving access into the chamber, but not before one big, big yellow eye flashes through the doorway directly atVarus (soz hun), and the Ascended finds himself as a very interesting statue. No, literally. He's been turned to stone.
