Pain wasn't a concern of his anymore, but the knowledge of the damage was still enough to make him grit his teeth and press a hand to the wound, feeling if he had broken a bone or whatever the Voice had put in it's place.
His eyes went to Wessex, her might against the basilisk reminding him, in some distant part of his memory, of the tale of Perseus and Medusa. In that legend, the saving grace had been a mirrored shield...his eyes went down to the hoverboard - dull metal, but he could see in it the shape of his head and face and if he looked hard enough, the white of his eyes. Desperate to contribute in some way beyond cowering in the dark, he picked up the hoverboard in his hands.
"Wessex - use this to reflect it's gaze back upon itself!" He cried, tossing the board as hard as he could (sideways, with a twist, so that it might not crash against the floor quite so badly as it could do) towards Wessex.
