"It was an accident," Ronin soothes, neither confirming nor denying that the coffee had fallen off the table all by itself. Because angry or not, he imagines that if Remi had intended to scald him, he'd have thrown the coffee at him with his own two hands rather than relying on a table and gravity. "I'm not so sure he's safe right now, but there's not much either of us can do about that," he admits, grinning and trying not to squirm at the cold press of a nose against his throat.
"Oh, there's a lot I could have done differently," he says softly. "We could have stayed closer together, we could have rotated our shifts to keep ourselves moving and to make ourselves smaller targets, we could have discussed strategy beforehand..." Ronin shrugs. What's done is done, but as always, he'll roll the encounter over and over in his mind now for days.
Smirking, he nods gently. "Not Ianto, then. I'll put up posters and ask if anyone wants to be your friend, maybe. But either way, you've always got me." As if to prove his point, Ronin wiggles enough that he might steal a quick kiss from the alchemist's lips. "Do you want to get some sleep yet?"
