The tea is more welcome than any affection might be, and Jack gives a murmur of thanks as the warmth is pressed against his waiting palms. Torchline might not get very cold in Deepfrost, but compared to life the rest of the time it was positively chilly. She moves to join him and he takes a slow sip of the tea, letting it soak into his bones and wake him up a little further. By which time Maeve is all but promising him the world, and Jack raises blue eyes to her face as if searching for the truth there.
