And when we leave, maybe we won't want to wear masks any more. Besides, imagine how surprised everyone will be when you take off that mask and..." Mateo makes a gesture like a chef's kiss, putting down the curler and leaning back to see if he is happy with the look so far.
He, of course, is already done, having decided on a gold palette for his own makeup (it will match the pale gold bowtie he plans to wear with his tuxedo), though at present he's sitting in his underwear so as not to get it all over his clothes. "Hold still or I'll poke you in the eye with mascara," he warns, before instructing Ever to look up so he can apply it.
