Though Mateo is indeed one of the few who can touch the paramedic without it making his skin crawl with underlying assumptions and social norms, on this night despite the many layers of warm clothing between the two, something about his friend's touch makes Ever want to shiver. Swallowing down his unease (of course), Ever just smiles and dips his head, focusing intently on the Uber app.
