Maeve

Perhaps it was all a little overkill. The antics and notions that they chose to use against the Hels. After all, the birds didn't stand much chance against even common arrows or whips. To infuse them with fire and lightening just seemed unfair. Still, it didn't stop the honeybee or the Nightshade from landing blow after devastating blow to the creatures. Melita shot another one further away, sending it into a tailspin that would surely be its demise. "Nice one!" The Nightshade called out in encouragement, grinning as she continued in her deadly dance, leaping in the air to strike against another unfortunate avian victim.

It took very little to send another out of the sky and at this point they were tied. Maybe they'd both be getting each other a drink. Fine by Maeve. She was simply happy for the company.
So come on, give me a taste

Won't let one drop go to waste

to be made of sunshine is beautiful
to be the light and the warmth and to be loved
The honeybee didn’t believe in overkill. She liked her power, her might, her precision, and if the Hels hadn’t bothered to be such dipshits and dicks, then there wouldn’t have been an issue to begin with. So it was with a malicious little grin that she bowed her head at the compliment. “Thank you,” and sought to render it again and again. Competition spurned and her ego burned and all of it clambered together in a complexity of heathen indulgences.

Her eyes went over to Maeve, launching and whipping, wondering if the sovereign would ever acquire an armament meant for distance, but shrugged it off.

Especially when they were still tied. Time to try and change that up.

So Melita took some moments to consider her options, pondering if there was a way to hit two at once. It’d take a generous amount of luck and skill, far more on the former than the latter, given the way the birds swayed, cawed, and seemed generally pissed off. Her eyes centered, pinpointed on a few clustered together in flight, but from the moment she drew the strand she knew it wasn’t going to herald her desired result.

The arrow sparked and sizzled, but only acquired one as it dropped to the earth with a satisfying plunge.

Maeve

Melita's next shot might not have hit two like she hoped, but it was still a good shot, striking one more of the feather covered rats from the sky. The Nightshade nodded her head, seemingly impressed by the ability of her cohort, a smirk curling on her lips. While Maeve might not have a superior reach on her side, she did have speed and a dragon. Letting out a sharp whistle, she signaled for Aidon, directing him towards the sky so he might chase the fleeing Hels closer to their efforts.

In quick succession, Maeve struck out against two more, igniting both of them with a thunderous snap. Their death cries lasted for only a second or so before they too fell towards the earth. With his job done, Aidon swooped back towards Fangorn, extending his claws as if to pick the gourd up and coast with him just about the ground.

The Nightshade turned back to Melita, grinning from ear to ear as the honeybee took her final shot, "I think we definitely scared them off for the time being. How about that drink?"

One more shot and volley, and she was content with the results – watching the last one they’d be striking against hit the sand and dirt. Fangorn ended up gathering the desecrated flock in his vines, and then floating along with Aidon in some foolish display of ridiculous, fiendish efforts. Inclining her head back towards Maeve, the youth nodded, content with the amount they’d mauled and marred. “Sure.” And there’d be plenty of food, feathers, and whatever other components they could use the Hels for.

For now, there were drinks to be had – a fine, successful day of vehemence shared and extended.
