Though Melita couldn’t win everything, she certainly never had, when given moments to justify her behavior, she adhered to the competitive angles quickly, decisively. Foolishly too, but perhaps that was beside the point. The wildfire youth clambered for another arrow the moment she saw the Nightshade take down another, arching her brow at the strategy. She might’ve commented on burnt feathers, but glancing at her zapped, still somewhat sparking Hel, she wisely kept her mouth shut.
While Fangorn intermingled with Aidon over silly things (though she could see him going for the felled bird out of the corner of her eye – hoping he didn’t intend to play around with it), she drew her next shot. Picking one a little farther away, placing some modicum of difficulty on the motion, she drew back her strand, listening to the snap, crackle, and pop of the armament again. It sung beside her ear, humming a lull, a tune, of promised demolition. And as it was released, scattering some more of the birds, it found its mark.
The bird only had a moment to squeak, shudder, and distort, unraveling into a tailspin until it hit the sand.
