The woman whips her head about with impressive speed at the next assault, feline eyes narrowing threateningly. He toes a line, and soon even her desire for information will not hold him safe from her more childish, violent desires. In fact it's only his grumbled musings that spare him from her casting away all pretense and chasing after him.
"Such is the way of such a publicized war," she huffs. As if anybody is surprised that Hotaru would prefer subtler motions and overtures. Lying in wait to strike all at once instead of dancing an ever-shifting line of propriety and risk with bated breath. In many ways, despite her manipulative nature, she values directness.
Shrugging helplessly, her mouth opens to respond, only to pause and close anew into a curling smirk. "I can think of better things to do than bide our time. After all, we can only seek to improve our own strengths." The sweet nature of her tone is immediately contrasted by the way she flings her hand, lightning racing up her skin to strike in a hard buzz of sensation at his shoulder.
