From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

With no one bothering with a diving bird nor an invisible man, both Kiada and Neron are able to reunite and then get the fuck outta dodge without issue.
Remi 's fingers close not on water or bloody-ice, but on an object that is roughly the size of his palm. Glittering brightly with constellations (because of course it is), the alchemist will find a brooch that hums faintly with decadent starlit energy.
Noah is able to heal Ronin, while subsequently doing a bit of damage to fake-Neron as Wessex darts by. Blasting at "Neron", Ronin strikes Wessex with a blast of celestial light that he'll feel reverberating back twice as hard in his own bones. Ow.
Beneath the water things are quickly becoming crowded. A giant jellyfish and shark both appear and move to attack Remi, compliments of Wessex, but the alchemist is able to evade both creatures. As Wessex continues to saw away at the creature, eventually her chakram is able to cut all the way through into the stomach cavity. Blood and guts spill out, and as the demigod cuts upward, she slices into the dinosaur's lungs and heart.
Seal of the Duke | An intricate brooch decorated with a spray of constellations. When thrown into the air, creates a 30ft dome of starlight that heals all those within for 30pts per round, and damages all enemies within for 30pts. The dome is opaque from the outside-in, obscuring all those within and making attacks roll with disadvantages. Lasts 3 rounds, with a 3-round cool down.
Dinosaur Bone | A massive bone from a prehistoric creature, with exceedingly sharp serated edges that are very strong. This may be useful for armour or weapons!

How do I learn my dreams to mold To lay them bare in the morning cold?
No marine biologist nor any real expert on the waters of Halo, it doesn't take much in the way of intellectual acrobatics to realize quite quickly that the jellyfish and shark suddenly attacking him in tandem had not been in the Sea of Glass moments ago. With his wings already flared, the alchemist is able to evade their various methods of injury, rising into the air in time to see a wellspring of dark blood pour out of the dinosaur.
With eyes narrowed and his (good) hand wrapped around the artifact, Remi thinks little of returning to the shoreline where Ronin and Noah are. A touch breathlessly and having not seen 'Neron' dive into the water to join him, it's with a skeptical stare that he regards the surrounding tundra before turning back to the two hunters. "Have...they gone?" He wonders of Wessex and co, before turning a hard sea-glass stare back to the dinosaur in the water and its two improbable friends.
Remi flies out of the water to land near Ronin and Noah, wondering where the ascended have gone. He looks toward the dinosaur.

Noah did not notice Kiada disappear from the ice, with his eyes focused towards the creature and where he had seen fake!Neron jump into the water. If he had, he might suspect that’s where Wessex had gone (of course, still unknowing of their tricky switching). As Remi surged upwards and towards them, Noah released his arrow from his bow and stuffed it back in the quiver. ”Neron in the water, others nowhere to be found.” He said, turning around and scanning the icy landscape to see nothing. ”You've got the relic? Let’s get out of here.” Noah urged, all of the tension and apprehension of the situation clear on his voice. He was ready to get out, no longer interested in fighting the ascended. Not with their prize in hand, anyway.

I shouldn't laugh, but I know I'm a failure in your eyes
No one else might have noticed it, but Ronin definitely feels it as some sinister piece of magic rips away over half of his health. The force of it is enough to stagger him and blow away the fury of his pride, the Huntsman dropping to one knee, leathery wings pinned against his sides as if to protect him from whatever just raked its claws across his soul. What was that? He sounds breathless even through the Attuned bond, glancing up at Remi as he emerges at last from the water, unable to offer more than a shiver of greeting.
They're out there somewhere, I think. Something just attacked me, and it's hit harder than anything else so far... Ironic that it happens to actually be Ronin himself, just bounced back at him. Did you find it? he asks Remi. I'm with Noah, if you did.
Ronin goes on the defensive and suggests they leave as well, if Remi does have the relic in hand.

Something hits her, violent and hot and even though she can’t feel the pain, her sensors start blaring their alarms. Wessex’s next hope - her sea friends - fail and Remi evades them, leaving the Wraith to snarl to herself in the dark depths of the water. Not knowing what they know, that the Lullaby already has the relic, she continues her attack on the monster and for her troubles, ends up with… a bloody sea and a big-ass bone. Sighing to herself, she decides to surface, bone in tow, popping up between the shoreline and the monster… still looking like Neron, which in the hullabaloo of it all she has completely forgotten about.
The three of them are on the shoreline, and she knows she can't hurt Ronin or Remi enough, but Noah? He's tried to kill real!Neron. A sudden kick of her legs sends her up and she hurls her chakram at him again, hoping to do some more damage.

Wessex gets her dino bone and surfaces, still looking like Neron, in between the shoreline and the dinosaur. In a last ditch effort, she hurls her chakram at Noah.

He has the relic, not that he was planning on saying so right away. Just the same before the trio might have left, "Neron" seems to be trying to engage them in a deadly game of frisbee that the already riled and reckless alchemist is all too happy to join in on. With a hatred of the Launceleyn's that runs deeper than Remi knew until precisely this moment, he looks into the face that isn't quite Loren's, acting before he can think better of it.
Lobbing three of Ronin's starbolts towards the man's far too smug face, advances in their wake with his wings spread and with claws already beginning to tip his remaining fingers. He needed ascended blood for his quest after all, specifically from a hybrid. So if Neron wanted to play, he'd find quite the willing partner in Remi.
Remi throws three starbolts at "neron" and begins to advance his way.

Neron popped up from the ice and Noah turned to face him, face contorted in a furious grimace. He bared teeth that would have been fangs, but his eyes flashed with the movement in the air and he took a few steps back in an attempt to dodge the shining chakram flying through the air.
Though the chakram is quick, Noah still manages to roar in anger. ”THAT’S WESSEX’S WEAPON!” He was not able to articulate all of what he felt as the chakram sliced into the muscle of his thigh. The same thigh that had once already been sliced through by that weapon.
Another roar — reminiscent of the bear within his soul — leaves his throat and he sinks down to one knee, much like Ronin had just moments before. ”That has to be her —“ he gurgled between growls, ”where else would she go?!” blood started to pool out into the ice. ”I have to go. You kill her!” Noah managed to finish, fishing his hand into his jacket pocket and initiating the power of his compass.

Noah is roaring about Neron wielding Wessex's weapon, about killing her. Ronin feels as though he's got sunburn on the inside. And Remi? He completely blanks them, and that twists something in the Huntsman that goes far beyond fear or anger. If this is Wessex, he doesn't know if they can kill her. Remi might be able to - and it looks like that's his aim, right now - but Ronin isn't so reckless.
He still doesn't know if they've got what they came here for, though. If all of this was even worth it.
"Remi," he barks out, and before the alchemist, Ronin's projection will appear with its hands raised, as if trying to stop the other man in his tracks. "What are you doing?"
Still having no idea if this is actually Wessex or if Remi has the relic, Ronin conjures an astral projection of himself between the two of them and tries to figure things out.
Magic: Astral Projection | Ronin can project a version of himself into another location. He can see, hear and speak in this space, and he can affect it physically, including combat situations. If the astral projection is damaged, it can no longer physically affect the space. He may only project as far as the sub-boards adjacent to his physical location - and only if he has previously visited the board.

Just what Wessex intended to do while sticking around - other than fuck with Noah - is still murky. Let them know that the Ascended haven’t run and can't be scared away that easily? Play with what they think they know about Wessex, Kiada, and Neron? If the series of switcheroos and illusions is any hint, it’s definitely the latter and quite possibly both.
As soon as the chakram returns to her hand, Wessex teleports away regardless of whether she’s been hit or not (unless she’s been knocked unconscious now, in which case… disregard the rest of the fluff in this post) potentially leaving the two (or three) Old God demis with the impression that perhaps Neron is a lot more powerful than he really is.
After all, where did Wessex go?

As soon as the chakram returns to her hand, Wessex teleports back to the Citadel if she's still conscious.
