So large is the beast beneath the ice that so long as it remains above the water's surface it should be relatively easy to hit (hear that, Ronin?). Struck by a massive block of ice followed swiftly by three bolts of starlight has the creature reeling for a moment. You would too, I think, had you been isolated for centuries only to be instantly attacked when first you returned to the world.
Careful Kiada —Wessex 's fancy new shift comes equipped with razor sharp feathers, so I'd watch where you sit. Case in point: a feather shoots out from one of Wessex's wings, and though it doesn't penetrate deep into the creature's thick rubbery hide, the way it sings the flesh apart in a clean line indicates just how sharp it is. Kiada 's arrow plinks off the monster's side with all the annoyance of a mosquito bite.
Neron Nerons and Noah Noahs, and the monster? Oh the monster absolutely attacks.
Taking a page from Remi 's book (or perhaps this was always in the creature's arsenal), it grabs a chunk of ice with its jaws and, lobbing its head, throws it toward the demigod wrongly assuming that both the ice and the starbolt attack had come from him. The ice goes wide, slamming down onto the shoreline (carefulNeron). Trying again with another block of ice, this too goes wide (though it does come quite close to Neron this time), the monster screams its outrage and instead tries to heave itself toward the kraken and bite at one of his limbs. This time, oh how it succeeds.
Coming away with the end of one of Remi's tentacles in its jaws, blood streams down its chin and from the end of one of Remi's arms. For a moment the beast has the audacity to look pleased, before tilting its head back and devouring this demigod morsel.
Mmm. Sushi.
