It's unhealthy to be sure, how little self-preservation Remi has, especially as it comes from a place of anger and recklessness rather than altruism or a need to keep those around him safe. No, as soon as the icy blue waters darkened with his blood, whatever rational hold he had over himself slipped away into purple oblivion.

Pain screams through his senses in looping cursive, as if the dinosaur's teeth were etching threats onto his skin. Unable to roar or vent his frustration in any other way than through his actions, the kraken narrows its focus into the bright searing lines of pain lacing through his tentacles, and he doubles down on his efforts. He imagines the V of the dino's jaws, imagines it growing wider and wider until the cartilage holding it together breaks like an elastic band.
