Lena and Sera arrived at about the same time, both of them with their smiles and warm greetings; Gideon had been involved in such dark business lately that it was almost an effort to bend his own face into a genuine smile, not one twisted with malice or contempt. Still, he managed, stepping down from the altar and nodding to them both. "Thank you for coming. Oh, there's all kinds of treasures."
With a wry smile, he went to one of the boxes and pulled out some paper chains, clearly made by children years prior. "Various things like this. Priceless, of course. ...Then there's the actual decorations in those boxes." Gideon pointed behind him, where some much more ornate and strong boxes leaned against the wall. "Everything needs cleaning before it can go out."
He was prepared to start with just the two (it was more help than he'd had ten minutes prior, at least), but he swiftly gained a new helper. Gideon snorted at October's excuse, shrugging his shoulders. "Maybe you should have let them learn a lesson."
With three of them here, he could delegate while he took the more precious things from their casing. "Well, there's quite a few jobs. I'll let you all choose who does what...Someone needs to go through the children's box and ah...decide which pieces are deserving of a second year on the wall. Another needs to help prep food in the kitchen - there's all kinds of ingredients in there, but..." Gideon shrugged, with a self-effacing grin directed at Sera. "There are people in this room that know my cooking leaves something to be desired. Finally, and I suppose this might be the 'fun job' - there's a group of children arriving in twenty minutes. They need to learn a simple song and dance routine. If any of you have skills in that area..."
