Perhaps the closest equivalent of Caido’s golden retriever energy, Zavien has been the light in an otherwise patch of darkness. Always putting others first, working hard at being a Dragoon and helping Stormbreak thrive in kindness, and always being optimistic, Zavien’s outlook is refreshing and wonderful even with drama and terrible things occurring around him. He always has something helpful to say and a willingness to lend a hand that makes it so fun to keep up with him and we can’t wait to see what else comes his way.
Congratulations, Zavien!

Court of the Fallen was created in October of 2018 by Odd, Honey, and Crooked.
Skinning and hosting by the epically talented Kaons, and functionality fanciness by the coding magic of Neowulf. If you ever see either of them around, make sure to show them some love!
(You're welcome for getting the song stuck in your head).
For decades it has been rumoured that from the Last Step, wishes could be granted. Have you ever wondered why that might be? Why this place, of all places? There are certain places in Caido where, at certain times, the world grows a little bit thin. You remember when Aamu was able to bring the ascended back, during Ludo's festival? It's a bit like that.
Only not really.
Into a land lacking in any sort of landmarks, the three ascended find themselves. There is a rectangular haze behind them that leads back to the Last Step, but otherwise? Otherwise this place is an infinity of diffused pale lighting. In the distance whorls of light snap and dance, though it's impossible to tell how far away they are. A clear trail of slime is directly before your feet.

They all jump in together and Azrael is sure to cling to Nate with all the panicked sensors in their mind telling them to calm down - especially when they come out on the other side unharmed aside from the death grip that Azrael has on Isla’s hand. They straighten up, brows pinching as they focus on what’s all around them, patting their pockets to make sure they haven’t lost what they’d brought on the switcharoo from the Last Step to wherever they are now.
They do spy the trail of slime, however, and they let Isla’s hand go to step toward it, instead reaching for Nate’s arm to remain close. “I don’t know where we are.” They admit, confused, but they point toward the trail of slime and glance up at Nate and Isla curiously. “Wessex mentioned something like this for the Prince.” It’s a whispered utterance and they begin to follow the trail of slime – after Nate.
Azrael chooses to follow the trail of slime! They’re positioned after Nate.

Oh, this is... Isla doesn't really know what this is. Letting Azrael go, she steps out a little to examine the ground in more detail, keeping behind Nate as previously requested. "No, this is nowhere I have ever been," she agrees with Az, frowning and leaning down to tilt her head. "The Prince must have gone this way." It might sound obvious, but it bears saying anyway. "Be careful not to actually touch this, okay?" The slime, she means.
And for a moment Isla sort of wishes she'd brought something to collect a sample. Alas, instead she straightens up and gestures for Nate to lead the way, ensuring that she's also behind him. "If anything happens, you stay back and just focus on keeping safe, okay?" she murmurs to Az.
Isla brings herself and everything listed in her profile!
She follows the slime trail, positioning herself behind Nate as well.
What they find on the other side of the portal doesn’t exactly fill Nate with any amount of relief; if anything, he’s more suspicious, his steps careful and his eyes darting around, searching for some way to ground them in this place. “I’m not sure this is even really a place.” An uneasy mutter as Nate reaches back offer Azrae as much of his arm as he can, activating his damage link at the same time, just in case.
The slime is the only real path they have to follow, Nate making sure to keep a distance from it while he follows along beside it, his head swivelling to make sure nothing takes them off guard. At least he can relax a little bit with Az sandwiched between Isla and himself. “We can take care of ourselves, okay?” The reassurance is tacked onto to his fellow doctors words, Nate offering the younger Demi-god a quick grin before facing forward again, his feet not pausing once.
Nate brings everything in his profile
He follows the slime trail and keeps a sharp eye out for anything that might come out of the fog
Nate, Isla, then Azrael. It's a good enough marching order. Nate will be the first to see a blemish of purple, but as it swims through the pale space that's presumably where the sky would be, it will be clear to Isla and Azrael as well. As it grows closer, you can make out that its shape is vaguely like that of a stretched-out weasel? or...a thick noodle with legs? No, no.
Oh. Oh.
The scales give it away. That's a dragon. Or at least...the soul of one, perhaps? Though it doesn't seem much larger than a cat.
