It’s impossible to deny the intoxicating triumph that courses through him, a rumble so low and warm it’s nearly a purr echoing through his great chest as Nate settles atop his slain foe, trying to decide which piece he wants to bring back with him. The smaller dragons appear again, black scaled lips drawing apart in a look that is half grin and half threat. There’s no warning before lightning snaps towards them, Nate hoping to strike both with the one blast.
He’s shifting to attack more directly when Azrael appears from the haze of nothingness, and all the half cocked plans in Nate’s head stop, replaced by the near frantic urge to gather the young Demi-god up in his claws and drag them to safety. Wings pump in an attempt to speed himself up, Nate slowing just long enough to properly grab Azrael before rushing in the direction they pointed, hoping Isla is nearby as well.
