"I am as good to you as any mother would be to their child," Vai objects, smiling and setting down the cloth before she gets to work, though she can't help but agree with his second point. "I think pain is as important as pleasure in keeping us human," she says with a nod. "Keep your emotions as they are, mm? They'll be good to you, as long as you take care of yourself."
She's silent so she can concentrate, up until Remi's lament; at this, Vai does let out a giggle and shakes her head to the alchemist. "You'll have to start using your toes," she suggests. "Or just use two of Ronin's fingers to complete the set instead." She sits back once more to examine his arm here and there, satisfied that she'll be able to bandage him up and he'll be able to heal properly by himself going forward.
"I was more thinking that their father might look a little bit different when they see him next," she suggests. "But that he's okay, and that it doesn't mean that he's any less him." Winking to Remi, she nods at his fingers now. "This will be the hardest bit. You ready?"
