Mateo has been expecting this, his brow furrowing in disappointment as he shuffles a few dead leaves around with the toe of his shoe. "Perché?" he asks quietly. He's chewing on the inside of his cheek now, raking at the ground without much paying attention to whether there's actually anything to rake.
