And for a moment he’s silent as he considers the words, knowing what she means by them and yet still stuck and trapped on the one side of things that he isn’t sure he’s glad to hear, but ones that soothe something jagged within him regardless. So instead, he nods, agreeing in what little way he can, a scent of whiskey and smoke and sandalwood drifting from him as she readjusts herself when he tucks her in closer. “You did.” He agrees quietly, leaning against the back of the booth as he reaches for his glass. “Owned up the fires at the Slagveld to me, eventually too.” It’s quieter, a hint more tender of a subject. “It fucked me up, Ru.” And it’s purely the alcohol speaking, but, given the everything he’d gone through with his father, the mind torture he’d gone through, to have Hotaru and everyone else believe and tell him she hadn’t done it had done a number on him.

He's quiet when he responds to her inquiry on the Halenani. “It was. I helped rebuild it.” He says gently. “It’s two separate buildings now. Nate helped a little before we left to ensure that it was properly stocked with medical supplies and training.”
