She smiles against his collarbone and his stomach flips in more uncertainty, feeling like a losing battle when her hand pulls his away, when her fingers interlace with his, pulling him away from the threat of her skin. And he warbles, his heartbeat thundering again. “I don’t know if I can yet.” He admits, turning his head away from her, swallowing the lump in his throat.
