But the Voice could have fixed those problems too, right? As long as they'd gotten to her before they actually died. "I'm pretty sure it's random. Or ... I think I heard that the spell was supposed to look for people who could potentially help the Voice, but I don't think she, like, individually chooses us or anything. Plenty of Outlanders have ended up on the other side, after all." Cam sounded a little bitter about that. They understood that not everyone who wound up in Caido was thrilled to be here; what they couldn't wrap their head around was how people could come into a new world and just accept its prejudices as their own.
