Adam thankfully had the presence of mind to close the knife and slide it back in his belt before  Maeve leaned in for her kiss, and lopsidedly grinned at the affection, huffing out a laugh and wiggling the parasol over his head. "Found it at the bottom of the fucking ocean, if you can believe that, but it does a good job of keeping the sun off." Though honestly, had it not been black, he probably wouldn't have used it - fashion always came first.

"Yeah - uh, what's it for? Just fancy a cat, or is there some weird God shit happening? It's always weird God shit." He concluded before she answered, assuming (though she was welcome to correct him). "Don't even tell me what for." If it ended up this blooming cat was somehow going to murder all Ascended, Adam would rather just not know his part in it. It was easier if he could just pretend it was all silly hijinks.

Taking a few steps towards the edge of the dock and kneeling to look down beneath, he hummed. "Cats like dark places and stuff right? So maybe we should look under the pier? In the gross bits?"
