Adam
You took notes on what you had to do
To get the piece of the pie that belonged to you
Thankfully Maeve was quick with the box and Adam wrestled the cat as gently as he could into the box, mumbling several curses under his breath as claws and kicking legs got close to things he'd really rather not have scratches on. "Probably be nicer when you're letting it eat and sleep and not shoving it in a box." Once he made sure the lid was on properly, Adam peered through one of the holes in the top - not the smartest move, but he managed to swing away before his eye was no more.
He straightened up and was about to make some kind of stupid innuendo about a cat in a box, but then Maeve's tone made him look over. Sensing the mood shift, oddly grim and serious for a conversation taking place under a grimy pier with a cat in a box, he huffed out a little chuckle and shuffled his feet. "I mean, yeah. 'Course I have. Can't really avoid it, can I? I wish it wasn't gonna fuckin' happen though. The Voice won't even talk to me and I've no interest in fighting anyway. Wish I could just ignore it, but.." He shrugged.
You've been waiting for this ever since you were young
Be careful not to choke on your tongue
