Done is a relative term, Ronin casting a long shadow over Sunjata where he's curled in on himself. "Is that what you think?" He barks out a laugh, using the toe of his boot to nudge Jata onto his back. "You're a demigod now. There's not a decision you ever get to make that won't have strings attached. You gonna sleep with Mort, too, if he gives you an even better offer?"
He doesn't expect to feel as angry as he does, not after the day or two it's taken to get here. But Safrin's hurt and betrayal burns as brightly in his veins as his own blood; fuelled by her, it's little wonder he's about ready to crush Sunjata's throat beneath his shoes. "You don't know that he won't," he snarls about Nate, shaking his head. "The Voice is connected to all of her Ascended, Jata. You're a fool if you think she couldn't take advantage of that through Nate."
That doesn't matter now though, he supposes, because Nate and Jata will be hiding away from the war when it comes, according to Frey. "You might be done with Safrin, Jata. But she's not done with you." His boot slams down in a vicious stamping of the Flood's ribs. Ronin hears cracking, and he relishes it.
