Over a year, and Gods if she doesn’t feel every single day that has passed like the hours have been etched into her bones. It’s an ache that impossibly matches the hurt that lingers outside the periphery of her mind, waiting for clarity to return. The pain of having missed him, of regret and loneliness. A void she’s been trying to fill with no success.
The growl of her name against her mouth has Ru sighing a whine of sound in answer, unbidden and uncontrolled. If she intended to say anything at all he takes the chance from her, the wet press of his mouth against the sensitive skin of her pulse stealing the words just below. Nails dig bluntly into Sunjata’s scalp as he descends, inhaling sharply as he settles on a painfully familiar area. One that bears a mark she still traces with her fingers alone at night. As he bites down around the edges of it Ru bites her lip in vain, only succeeding in muffling her moan as she tilts her head to bare her throat. “Jata,” she breathes, her free hand dragging nails in blunt, firm pressure down his back as her arm wraps around him to hold on.
