Ray eyes the creature of a half second before instantly deciding she wants it. Partial shifting her eyes to that of her shangyagn so that she can better track any sudden movements, the herbalist reaches over and steals some rations from Deimos. Food acquired; she holds it out to the creature.
"Come here little one. There'll be plenty more food for you if you join me and let us pass through the tunnel." The herbalist keeps her tone warm and inviting, similar to how she talks to stressed children. If she's lucky, she'll befriend the creature. Less lucky, it'll be distracted and easy to dispatch. Worst case scenario, Ray gets a new face.
