At least some of Sam's worries were unfounded. The elder Wordsworths were still at home, uninterested in seeing the Spark Bird and all its glory. LongNight was almost over, and given the crowd surrounding the perch they had absolutely no desire to venture out. They would remain indoors as they had for years and years previous.
