Tangleweed! That’s the name he’s missing. But as soon as Amun fills it in and Isla agrees with the idea, he finds a small amount of relief in the fact that it could work. Of course, it would take some fiddling to get it just right, but the point is that it could be enough of something normal to not raise flags while also being essentially the perfect image of hiding in plain sight.
“Agreed.” Varus rumbles, collecting the caltrops and returning to the spaces he’d marked out, moving to set the pieces in place with his metal arm, taking advantage of a bit more strength to push them into places he thinks the tangleweed would thrive yet also be a perfect spot for someone to be taken by surprise.
Varus takes some of the caltrops to go and place them down in a few spaces that he thinks are good for the tangleweed to thrive, and when he’s done he’s ready to go and grab some branches to corral the tangleweed!
