Ludo
There are times when curiosity kills the cat, and there are other times where it rewards the cat. Or something. Whatever.

On this occasion, curiosity is your friend. Sah and Darkeye emerge towards a welcoming campfire. They will be able to see each other, and they will be able to hear the tittering of a deity overhead in the blackness.

"Tell me a story?" Ludo asks them.

Those who decide to stay hidden this time will find themselves caught by a spooky mask, which definitely doesn't look pleased with itself. Instantly they will find themselves sucked into blackness and gone from the game.

When they awaken, it will be from the most horrific nightmares imaginable. (Feel free to enjoy some aftermath threads of that!)

The following people have been found by Ludo and are out of the Drop! They will awaken in their beds following a night of terrifying nightmares. Fun!

Lilliane
Talyson
Noah
Deimos

Those who remain (Sah and Darkeye) have the chance to tell Ludo a story! Do your best to impress, boys!

You have 48 hours.

DARKEYE
Not the strongest win the battle —
When Dakreye saw Sah, he bowed to him and nodded. A story. One with meaning or one that flatters the dead? He decided to tell a personal one. One that had shaped him. Darkeye started his story. "Well then, let's go. I'll tell you the story of the downfall of the elven people. Once in the deep ice stood a cracked tower of solid stone, frayed by the magic and will of the elves. They had created impossible things through their magic. Even created life. The leader of the elves said: if we dare the storm of the sky tower and radiate our dominance, we no longer need the gods. The gods heard this and were full of worry. So they devised a plan to prevent the elves from doing this and created a body of light dew and a single snowflake. The body formed under the will of the gods surpassed the beauty of all beings. However, this work so exhausted them that they fell asleep. The rat child then went to the beautiful body and planted the seed of discord in the still uninhabited body, unnoticed by the elven gods. The next day, they awakened the body and named it Bardana, which in elven means beauty, and set it loose on the elves. She infiltrated the council of the elves with cunning and beauty, as well as the leader of the sky tower. The elven gods thought that they had done a good job. But one night, the coup against the elves was executed and Bardana killed all those who did not follow her and all the knowledge the elves had was lost. Some of the elves who survived fled and spread the word about The Storm of Heaven's Tower. Some elves recovered from the attack but renounced the gods. Even today, when the elves die, they are laid out staring open-eyed in the direction of the Tower of Heaven, as a sign never to forget." Darkeye hoped that this was a good story.

Darkeye tells the story of the Fall of the Evlen goods and the elven empire.

Sah

Sah returned Darkeye's nod when he reached the fire. He listened curiously as the cleric told his tale, fascinated by the differences and similarities between the elves in the story and those of his own home world. Once Darkeye fell silent, Sah glanced upwards, wondering just where Ludo was.

The deity was near, that was all he knew. It was strange to tell a story to something he couldn't see, but Sah cleared his throat and began. "In my home world, there was a legend of sorts. A belief that the world was kept in balance by two beings or entities, or even spirts. No one seemed to ever agree what they were, or what their true names were either. But they were generally referred to as Destruction and Rebirth. It was believed that these two controlled the rise and fall of empires and eras. Together they alone controlled the flow of time and power."

Sah paused, recalling the tale, "It was said that they kept track of the world and decided when a new era needed to be born. Quick and horrific calamities were often said to be a smooth turnover brought about by Destruction. The new era born after was then said to be guided by Rebirth. However, things were rarely that smooth. Sometimes multiple calamites occurred in succession, wars dragged on. People suffered and just when they thought they were recovering, something else would occur. When this happened, it was said that Destruction and Rebirth were in conflict. That one was ready to continue the cycle and create a new era, but the other was hesitating. Or even downright against it happening just yet. The fight for control would lead to these slow, dragged-out tragedies."

The Outlander sighed and his voice grew solemn. "It was said that if this struggle for power reached a zenith, they would destroy each other. Destruction and Rebirth would happen simultaneously instead of in the normal cycle, and the world would be completely erased. My world...ended... right before I portaled into Caido. If the tale they told of these entities was true, then I can only assume that they finally destroyed each other."

Sah glanced at the fire contemplatively, "Maybe a new world rose from the ashes, starting a new cycle yet again. Or maybe, it's truly over for that dimension or universe. Who knows?" He wasn't sure which outcome he preferred.

Ludo
And what moody, broody stories the last two standing decide to tell. Around them the darkness seems to become more dense in places, more translucent in others, as if Ludo is hovering over each man's shoulder as they tell their tale.

But finally, after much deliberation, the darkness coalesces around... Darkeye !

"A tower. So many towers have come and gone in Caido... and in other worlds too, it seems. Very well - you are 'it' now!" Not that they will be playing any more hide and seek.

As for Sah? You guessed it. Instantly they will find themselves sucked into blackness and gone from the game. When they awaken, it will be from the most horrific nightmares imaginable. (Feel free to enjoy some aftermath threads of that!)

THE DROP HAS CONCLUDED AND Darkeye IS THE WINNER! He receives +3 LUCK for winning!
