It had been a long time since Tal had heard laughter on the Sea, and for a moment he looked a bit startled at the peals of mirth that rolled free from the General and brought a little more warmth to the chilly Halo day. His grin quickly widened in shared mischief, however, and he relaxed a little more around the legendary Sword.
Religion had never been one of Tal's strong points, lore and distant gods who used to never answer seemed like too much trouble to worry about when there more immediate tasks, like learning to make harnesses from leather scraps and repairing cracked sledge runners, or the best poultices for strained paws. Besides, there was only one seasonal deity who mattered in Halo in the days before portals and air ships, so he hadn't seen the point in trying to remember his childhood lessons.
Now... well, he didn't regret his younger self's decisions. But maybe it was time to relearn those lessons. He listened with a faint frown, brow furrowed as he pulled together the bits and pieces. "Wait, why'd she threaten to eat you?"
