Otherwise Sunjata might’ve had the poker aimed at his chest, or something equally dangerous and asinine.

It was the last sentence that did her in more so than everything else – some small scale assault on a region known for its ties to obliterating Ascended, and them doubling back to try and do the same to the Order… ”What do you mean, didn’t make it out? Are they holding him prisoner?” Because in some proportion of her young, defiant little mind, there weren’t any other options. Nate was Nate, strong and dependable and enduring, and Sunjata was Sunjata, impulsive, impetuous, and short-sighted.
