As the conversation shifted away from Neron some of the dark, twisted emotions subsided in Tal's breast and the modilu flie in front of him took on brighter hues before spiraling away. He nodded slowly at Deimos's words, catching his lip between his teeth and chewing it thoughtfully. "Hadn't thought of it like that," he admitted reluctantly. "I don't like thinkin' about it too much. About why... more people didn't come back." A multitude of reasons, but they all boiled down to: something else had meant more to them than their children.
Another fly landed gently on top of the courier's head, unnoticed for the moment. At the mention of skyports, however, it pulsed bright yellow, and Tal's gaze sharpened on the General again - this time in eagerness. "D'you think we could make one?" he asked, hope rising against the weight of resentment and mourning that lingered. A worthwhile distraction had been found, at least, and the tempestuous youth gestured enthusiastically. "An' a skyship to dock there?"
