A sound of light footsteps announced her presence long before Maea poked her head around a corner and glanced around. Though the barracks were not entirely unknown, it was still an area she had not frequented enough to be confident in, and she approached the gruff looking man with an expression that tried to be neutral, yet flickered between wariness and reluctant curiosity.
"Are you the one who wanted help with a building project?" she asked, in a quiet melodic voice. "If you are, I came to help." Slipping pale hands into the deep pockets of her over-sized coat, the diminutive girl peered around at the gathered materials. Taking stock of planks, tools and nails with a gaze that missed very little.
