It was a bit strange to think of anyone other than Deimos or Wessex in the role this man - Cal, was it? - now filled, though it illustrated exactly how long she had been away. So many things had changed, and this was perhaps the smallest of those.
The work the captain asked for was simple and to the point. Nodding a reticent understanding of the task, Maea armed herself with putty and knife and set to work on the first wall. Floor to mid-height was fine, but she knew she might have trouble reaching the higher spots. Good thing at least one of them was on the taller side... Though, a surreptitious glance at Cal confirmed that he was not one of the towering giant types.
