Tal might not have realized what was happening at first; no one had ever used magic on him without his consent before, and as a strange resistance settled over his limbs there was a single, confused moment where his brain teetered on a single question:
Fight, or flight?
Muscles bunched and broke free of the strange restriction as he flung himself back off the wall. The courier managed to land in a crouch and what to his wondering eyes should appear, but that guy.
"Sah, you dick!" he growled, adrenaline pumping through him in a mix of anger and relief that it was only Sah, but also how dare he. Tal didn't even think as he scooped up two snowballs and sent the first one whizzing at the advisor, with the other a split second behind. They weren't his best throws; he hadn't taken time to pack the snow and the balls were crumbling and wobbling on their flights. The first looked like it might miss, but the second was probably on target.
But hey, at least they weren't axes!
