Theirs are not made of harrowing mistakes or bloody regrets, but rather carved in runic shapes like so many raised tattoos. Calves and forearms wear the same, suggesting that he might have seen more if he had stolen a look previously.
Their voice is light, more probing than polemic, as they finally decide on their questions. “Is Frey not invested in a particular outcome of the war? Will this haven protect some and not others?” The flat of their mask angles defiantly toward the demi-god, without entirely understanding what he is-- dead, brittle antlers juxtaposed with black, potent horns. “There is another who seeks to found an independent village. Perhaps even independent from the gods.”
