Shooting Mateo a look of horror as he interprets growing up as a literal image of the hair between his (their?) legs, growing up until they were nothing but a tangle of dark curls, Ever gulps and reaches down for the cup between his legs. Twisting it back and forth between his fingers, the boy nods with a panicked sort of agreeableness.
"Am I...what? No, of course not!" Why of course not? Well...because. Because it was a change and it was different to everyone else. "Uhm. Yeah." Shaking his head at the offered cocoa (which in his opinion was mostly sugary-cream the way Mateo drank it), he sighs. "And uhm..I uh...I heard your voice do the thing too." Glancing over his shoulder at his friend, Ever continues to spin his cup between his hands. "I thought if I stopped talking it would stop happening but...it didn't."
