"Eww." Ever remarks emphatically, scrunching up his face until the hairs on his upper lip brush against his nose. "But..they're still kids, right? Just because they're big doesn't just make them adults. Or...does it?" Letting his face fall, Ever again wishes he had his notebook to make a note of this question for later.
Unlooping the scarf from around his neck as he enters the greenhouse, Ever tugs at his collar to try and circulate air. "I think Safrin is keeping kids safe everywhere, but...I don't really know what that means. I suppose it could be interesting to be in The Place, but...what if it gets really bad in there and you can't leave? What if people are mean? Or if the food is bad?" Mention of Tobi and Finn just has Ever shrugging. "I don't know. Sometimes they tell me lots of things all at once and then other times they just whisper about it." Currently he thought they were in the whispering stage when it came to war.
'Mm?' Trickling his fingers over the various blooms but careful not to touch anything (he'd made that mistake before and ended up with a rash), Ever follows along peering over his friend's shoulder. (Had it always been this easy to see over Mateo's shoulder?)
