Adam hadn't actually expected Lucas to make good on his promise to take him out to the barrier (didn't he know he was about to be horribly embarrassed? most people who challenged Adam Motherfuckin' Pikely gave up once they realised what they'd done) but he had, setting up for them to meet in some random field at nightfall.
